Six outreach meetings are scheduled for north Louisiana agricultural producers to discuss guidelines and the application process for recovery grant money. This recovery grant money will go toward eligible farmers and ranchers in 51 parishes who suffered losses as a result of March and August of 2016 flooding.

The $10 million grant is funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as Community Development Block Disaster Recovery Program, CDBG, grant funds. The Office of Community Development, Disaster Recovery Unit, receives the CDBG disaster recovery grant funds from HUD. The Louisiana Department of Agriculture & Forestry will then administer the program. The funding is part of the $1.6 billion congressional appropriation for Restore Louisiana.
