The Restore Louisiana Task Force meets at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, July 14 at Beacon Light Baptist Church of Baton Rouge at 7500 Prescott Road. The meeting will be live-streamed online at restore.la.gov.
Task force members will be briefed on the latest progress regarding the Restore Homeowner Assistance Program, the Landlord Rental Program and the Small Business Assistance Program. In addition, FEMA representatives will present a briefing on a watershed study performed for some of the communities most impacted by 2016 flooding, and the state Department of Transportation and Development will present an update on the Comite River Diversion Project.
Homeowners who experienced damage from the March or August 2016 floods are urged to complete the Restore Louisiana survey, regardless of whether they believe they qualify for assistance. The survey is a required first-step of the homeowner assistance program and helps determine the order in which homeowners receive help through the program.
The survey provides valuable information about the state’s ongoing recovery needs. The data also helps the state demonstrate remaining unmet needs to Congress, ensuring that homeowners are considered for assistance, either now or when additional funds may become available.
