The Restore Louisiana Task Force will meet on Friday, March 31 at the Shreveport Government Plaza at 505 Travis St. in Shreveport. The meeting starts at 9:30 a.m. and is open to the public. It also will be live streamed on restore.la.gov.
Task force members will receive updates on several flood-relief programs to assist homeowners, small business owners and rental property owners. The Office of Community Development will also provide an update on the current Solicitation for Offers to manage the homeowner program.
“We’re using an expedited procurement process that focuses first and foremost on providing flooded homeowners the best quality rebuilding program at the best cost for the taxpayers, with minimal delays to homeowners,” said Pat Forbes, executive director of the Office of Community Development. “We are on track to have our initial survey open to homeowners by mid-April and a contract in place with the winning firm by the end of April, ahead of when the federal flood-relief funding is expected to become available to Louisiana.”
In the meantime, all flood-impacted residents are asked to sign up for email updates through the Restore Louisiana website, restore.la.gov. This is the fastest way to find out when the survey and application processes open, and how the program will work.
